C-Walk Interview: Blakwidow

Hi everybody! This time around i’m proud to present a person that have been around for longer than you can imagine. Blackwidow, she have been here for around 7 years now, and is currently one of the Jr. Admin of  TheCwalk.com. She had a big influence on the rebirth of JA (Junior Access) and recently got back to the TCW staff. I would recommend you all to read this very interesting interview.

Dias: hello! why dont you start out with a short introduction of yourself? name, age, occupations etc.
Mary: Hello, my name is Mary, aka blakwidow, I’m 20 years old, soon to be 21. I work as a Workforce Administrator full time for a US call center chain, and more importantly I’m one of the Jr. Admins on TheCwalk.com.
Dias: sounds interesting, lets get back to that later.
what got you into cwalking in the first place?

Mary: I actually don’t c-walk at all, and never took a great interest in it, besides watching.
Dias: oh really? how did you end up on thecwalk.com then?
Mary: Someone I knew a long long time ago was on the site briefly, they showed it to me and I glanced at it briefly. Then one day I took interest in the text/poetry section that was big then, and I stuck around. Later what really kept me were the members.
Dias: interesting. so i assume your are pretty “old school”?
Mary: I guess you could say that, I’ve been on the site for probably around 7 years now, so I’ve seen my fair share of generations.
Dias: haha, yeah thats quite some time. so how is your view on the cwalk today? maybe compared to the cwalk back in the days.
Mary: As always, as the generations change, so does the dance. It’s funny that way, it’s the people that make cwalking, not c-walking that makes the people. For better or worse, it’s a direct reflection of the people who are putting themselves into it, and it’s certainly much faster than it used to be. Almost too much to keep up
with.

Dias: so you would say that cwalk isnt quite as good as it used to be? or am i wrong.
Mary: Oh absolutely not, it’s a matter of opinion. Today’s styles are, in my opinion, of a much wider range. You see people branching out in new ways more and more often, so to me it’s much better, people are pushing cwalking to it’s limits and then expanding those limits, it’s wonderful.
Dias: thats great to hear!
anyways. back to tcw. how did you enter the staff?

Mary: I started out as a basic Moderator over the poetry section and then over a short period of time worked my way up to Root Admin, then after a somewhat long retirement from staff, I was asked to come back as a Jr. Admin and I was ready to come back and be active as staff again.
Dias: thats great.
i got a question that i think many is having as well.
what is your view on the big TCW vs PMW? and has it been there for a long time?

Mary: I think there will always be a certain tension between TCW and PMW, and of course I can understand why. On the surface they’re two sites trying to attract the same member base, and as long as there’s that competition there’s going to be resentment. My opinion is that there’s a strong site out there to fit anyone’s
personality, depending on your tastes and the atmosphere you prefer, TCW and PMW offer two options to
choose from. I don’t see it as a bad thing, I think it’s good that people can choose, but of course if anyone
asks I’ll always choose TCW and always recommend it. I grew up on that site, and in a lot of ways it helped
me find who I am, and I think it has the potential to do that for a lot of people if they’re open to it.

Dias: word up!
so how do you think the future looks for cwalk, and the sites and all that?

Mary: I think the future is bright. The ‘Old’ generations set up a strong foundation which has grown through the generations and has branched out seamlessly. Where it stops, no one can really say, but I look forward to seeing where it will go.
Dias: so you have the thought that cwalking currently is under development in a good sense?
Mary: Oh it’s always under development, as it should be. It’s good that it’s always evolving, because whatever the end result is, it will be a strong dance with many facets.
And that’s absolutely a good thing.

Dias: alright.
anyways, people might not know this, but you are the new writer and now a part of the cwalkmedia team.
how is your thoughts about cwalkmedia?

Mary: I love the idea of cwalkmedia, simply because it’s a bridge between all of the c-walking sites. It unites everyone and really ties together all of the members of all of the communities, and it lets everyone know what else is going on in the c-walking world, it’s a fantastic mission to have and cwalkmedia succeeds at it brilliantly. I’m very excited to be able to contribute to it.
Dias: okay, so it sounds like you like cwalkmedia. do you have any thoughts, expectations or anything for them in 2010?
Mary: I would hope that they continue well beyond 2010, and that cwalkmedia will keep bringing together the cwalk community through tournaments, articles, interviews, not only about c-walking but about everyday life, I don’t think anyone could ask for more.
Dias: and i agree with you ;)
anyways, it looks like we’ve comed to an end.
do you have any messages, shoutouts or something you want to say to the readers?

Mary: Just to say thank you to all of the old generation members for the strong foundation that they laid, the new generations for pushing the boundaries, and the future generations for pushing c-walking even further. And of course to everyone at TCW, they make that site everything it is.
Dias: great!
thank you for the interview, it was a plesure.

Mary: Thanks Dias, it was my pleasure. :)
